About Mannschaft

A team of teachers who believe smaller classes teach faster

Mannschaft means 'team' — and that's how we approach language learning: a small group working toward a shared goal, with a teacher who actually knows your name.

Our Story

Founded by teachers, not investors

Mannschaft Sprachzentrum started when a group of language teachers grew frustrated with oversized classes at larger institutes, where half the room never got to speak. We set out to build something different: courses capped at ten students, lesson plans built around real situations, and teachers who stay with your group from level to level.

Today we teach German from A1 to B2, prepare students for Goethe, telc, TestDaF, and DSH exams, and offer a handful of other languages for students who need them alongside German. What hasn't changed is the size of our classes or the attention every student gets.

2016

Mannschaft opens its first classroom in Berlin with three teachers.

2019

Launch of dedicated Goethe and telc exam-preparation tracks.

2021

Online courses introduced, reaching students across Europe.

2024

Over 2,400 students coached across A1–B2 and exam programs.

Mission & Values

What guides how we teach

Our mission

Make fluent, confident German achievable for anyone, on a realistic timeline — without requiring a talent for languages, just consistent, well-guided practice.

Our values

Small groups over big enrollment numbers. Honest feedback over false encouragement. Practical German over textbook perfection. Your time respected, every session.
